Installation Guide for ALD Customer Display on Windows Operating Systems :

A. Before installing 

• please disable driver signature enforcement to allow installation of unsigned drivers. This is required for compatibility with Windows 10 security policies.

B. 🛠 Steps to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

1. Hold down the Shift key and click Restart from the Start menu’s power options.
2. After reboot, select Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings.
3. Click Restart.
4. When prompted, press F7 or 7 to choose Disable driver signature enforcement.
5. Windows will boot with signature enforcement disabled—proceed with the installation.

⚠️ This change is temporary and will reset after the next reboot.

🌍 Change Windows 10 Region and Language Settings After Installation

Note: To ensure full app compatibility and accurate localization, change your system region and language to match your local settings.

🔧 Steps:

1. Open the Start menu and click Settings (⚙️).
2. Go to Time & Language → Region.
   • Under Country or region, select your local region.
3. In the same section, go to Language.
   • Click Add a language if your local language is not listed.
   • Choose the desired language and click Next → Install.
   • After installation, set it as the Windows display language.
   • Save & Apply Configuration
4. You may be prompted to Sign out and sign in again for changes to apply.

🗨️ Optional: If your app requires formatting settings (e.g., currency or date formats), go to Region → Additional settings and adjust accordingly.

🖥️ Launch & Configure the Customer Display Utility

🚀 Start the Program

1. Navigate to the installation directory or use the Start menu.
2. Double-click the Customer Display Utility icon.
3. If prompted by Windows, click Yes to allow the program to run.

🛠️Check Serial COM Port in Windows

• Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand the section called Ports (COM & LPT).
• You’ll see entries like USB Serial Device (COM3) or Communications Port (COM1).

🖱️Configure Display Settings

Note: The Customer Display Utility provides display configuration options directly from the botton-right corner of the application window.

3. Click to open the Display Settings menu.

Yes, simply install our utility and convert the serial port settings to connect our virtual serial port and use it.

If your original program is serial port interface, there is no need to change the current program, but you should pay attention to what kind of command encoding you use when purchasing ? Generally speaking, ESC/POS command.

ALD Multimedia Customer Display supports Windows OS.

Not required, customer display is USB port powered, power comes from the your system USB port.

No special USB port power supply is required, generally USB 5V 500mA is sufficient.

Generally English, other languages ​​default be “windows system language”

The ALD USB customer display does not have a built-in font, so it will display according to the windows system language.

For example, if you are in Japan, then the windows system language default Japanese, the USB customer display can display English and Japanese.
