Step 1: Pre-Installation Checklist

• BitLocker: If enabled, temporarily disable it to avoid installation conflicts.
• Driver Signature Enforcement: Some ALD displays use unsigned drivers. You’ll need to disable this feature temporarily to proceed.

How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement:

1. Hold Shift and click Restart from the Start menu.
2. Navigate to: Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings.
3. Click Restart.
4. Press F7 or 7 to select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.

Note: This change resets after the next reboot.

Step 2: Connect the Display

• Plug the ALD display into a USB port.
• Windows will detect it as a USB Serial Device (e.g., COM3) or Communications Port (e.g., COM1).

 Step 3: Install the ALD Customer Display Utility

• Download the utility from ACODE’s official website.
• Launch it via the Start menu or directly from the installation folder.Note: This change resets after the next reboot.

Step 4: Configure Display Settings

• Open the Customer Display Utility.
• In the bottom-right corner, click the ALD Settings button.
• Select the correct COM port (check Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT)).
• Choose the appropriate command set (e.g., ESC/POS) based on your POS system.

Step 5: Adjust Region & Language Settings

To ensure proper localization and app compatibility:

1. Go to Settings → Time & Language → Region.
2. Set your Country or Region.
3. Under Language, add and install your preferred language.
4. Set it as the Windows display language.
5. Sign out and back in if prompted.
