ALD LCD Customer Display Troubleshooting 

If your display isn’t working, revisit installation steps—especially drivers, software settings, and connection ports. That missing piece might be hiding in plain sight!

Double-check the following:

To install the utility, run in Administrator mode and disable Driver Signature Enforcement on Windows.

• Why Administrator Mode Is Needed ?
• Modify system settings.
• Install unsigned drivers/utilities.
• Access protected directories.

Installation Steps

1. Download the ALD Utility
   • Visit the official vendor or support site to get the installer.
   • Download ALD Customer Display utility
2. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement
   • Required for unsigned drivers to install properly.
   • Hold Shift and click Restart → Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings → Press F7 to disable signature enforcement.
3. Run Installer as Administrator
   • Right-click the installer file and select Run as administrator.
   • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
4. Register the Utility
   • Enter the registration code (usually found on the device label).
   • Launch the utility from the Start menu or system tray.
5. Configure the Virtual COM Port
   • After installation, check Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT).
   • You should see a new USB Serial Device ACODE Customer Display (COMx).

If the customer display shows garbled or misaligned text, the issue may stem from an incorrect command set configuration. Always double-check that your POS system is using the correct command set for the display model (e.g., EPSON, LOGIC UTC, DSP800, etc.).

• Mismatched command sets can cause unreadable content, incorrect formatting, or missing display updates.
• Review your software settings and documentation to ensure compatibility.
• If applicable, send a test command manually and verify the response format.
