  • Non-Dedicated Serial Communication : USB open cash drawer with preset open code
  • What You Need and How It Works :
    • 1) use RJ12 printer driven cash drawer (NO normal open) that has built-in sensor to detect open/close status and ;
      2) use the AT10U3-00102-03002 USB Cash Drawer Trigger
    • when your POS app sends a preset open code to COM port, the cash drawer will open : cash drawer responds only to preset open code, if an incorrect code is sent, it remains closed
    • check whether a cash drawer is open or closed using the status/return code (eg. `00`) : when the cash drawer opens, the AT10U3-00102-03002 USB Trigger reads this data and sends a status code/return codes (like `00`) back to POS app, continuous `00` signals indicate cash drawer is open, `00` signal stops when cash drawer is closed

Cash Drawer Sensor -

Normally Open (NO) : The circuit is open when the drawer is closed. It closes when the drawer opens, allowing current to flow — so the sensor sends a signal only when the drawer is open.

Normally Closed (NC) : The circuit is closed when the drawer is closed, meaning current flows by default. When the drawer opens, the circuit breaks —so the sensor stops sending a signal when the drawer is open.
So in NC, the signal is present when the drawer is closed, and disappears when it opens. That loss of signal is what the system detects.

Cash Drawer Sensor Pin :
Normal open : Cash drawer close the sensor Pin 3 and Pin 6 is open.
Normal close : Cash drawer close the sensor Pin 3 and Pin 6 is close.
